Petrohawk announces 56% jump in 2009 output

Houston-Shale standout Petrohawk Energy grew its gross production 56% in 2009 to an average 475,000 Mcf/d of gas equivalent from 305,000 Mcfe/d in full-year 2008, and most of the growth stemmed from just one play: the Haynesville field.In its fourth-quarter operations update February 1, Petrohawk said its gross production in the play, located in east Texas and northwest Louisiana, leaped nearly 450% in 2009 to an exit rate of 480,000 Mcfe/d from 110,000 Mcfe/d at the start of the year, Chief Operating officer Dick Stoneburner said during a conference call to explain the company's 2009 operating performance and map out 2010 goals to Wall Street.
