Norway's Statoil restarts Snohvit LNG plant

London-Norwegian oil and gas producer Statoil said December 17 its Snohvit LNG processing plant is starting up after "technical challenges" led to an aborted attempt to restart the facility last month. The plant has been shut down since it went into maintenance in August. "We can confirm that the Snohvit LNG plant is in a start-up phase," a spokesman said. The liquefaction plant is not yet back in normal operating mode, he said, but added that Statoil would confirm when its status changed.
