Romania's Petrom eyes Black Sea deepwater

London-The deepwater in the Black Sea is being increasingly targeted by upstream companies looking to tap its massive potential reserves, with Romania's Petrom announcing this week the start of a vast exploration program at its Neptun block. Turkish state company TPAO is also lining up extensive exploration work in the Black Sea, in its efforts to turn Turkey from an oil and gas importer into a self-sufficient producer. The Black Sea, TPAO estimates, contains at least 1.5 trillion cubic meters of gas and 10 billion barrels of oil.
