Range begins development of Marcellus Shale gas

Houston—Range Resources has launched development of Appalachia’s much-watched Marcellus Shale, its managers said late October 23, making Range one of the first companies to start wide-scale production of a natural gas play that many in industry believed would require years more to become commercial.
