Tokyo—Brazilian state oil company Petrobras and Japanese trading house Mitsui & Company signed a memorandum of understanding this week to study construction of a major sugarcane ethanol pipeline from central Brazil to coastal Sao Paulo state, as part of moves to export large volumes of Brazilian ethanol to Japan.
