NYMEX wants outside stake held to 20%

The board of the New York Mercantile Exchange has decided that any equity stake sought by outside entities will be limited to 20%.several sources told P/afts July 19.In addition,no outside interest would be granted trading rights until an initial public offering is done,one source said.NYMEX received an offer for a 20% equity stake by Blackstone Group and Battery Partners in April,but the exchange has yet to make a decision.NYMEX formed a special committee June 7 to decide on options for the exchange's future,with the committee given 60 clays to make a decision.
