US Gulf Coast MTBE was assessed higher by 5 cents/gal Wednesday, 2.915-2.925/gal, up with stronger levels in Europe and the NYMEX RBOB contract. In the Platts Market On Close assessment process, Lyondell offered 2.97/gal, for 25,000 barrels, on Platts dates, FOB Houston; there were no bids.Europe was up about 5 cents/gal, to the equivalent of 2.70/gal, and the NYMEX May RBOB settled at 2.7736, up well over 13 cents/gal. There was some extra demand seen as well, with Jamaica in the market for about 50,000 barrels.
