BP Expands Namibia Position

UK major BP has struck its second farm-in deal in the highly prospective Namibian offshore, agreeing to earn a 30% interest in the four-block License 0047 from current 85% operator Serica Energy by fully funding a 3-D seismic survey. This has enabled London- and Toronto-listed Serica to contract a 4,150 sq km survey commencing in April across all four of the blocks -- 2512A, 2513A, 2513B and part of 2612A -- situated in the deepwater Luderitz Basin offshore central Namibia, in which Serica finalized its own interests only late last year (IOD Nov.4’11).
