Iraqi Oil Exports Rise

Iraq’s oil ministry announced Monday that oil exports in December reached 66.5 million bbl, or 2.15 million b/d. Of this, 53.7 million bbl, or 1.73 million b/d, was exported via the southern oil hub of Basrah, with the remaining 12.8 million bbl, or 413,000 b/d, flowing through the northern Kirkuk export system. An average oil price of $106/bbl meant earnings last month reached $7.06 billion.
