Israel's infrastructure ministry has authorized Texas-based Noble Energy to begin developing the offshore Noa natural gas field due to an expected shortage of gas in 2012. The ministry approved the development of the northern part of the field, where the Noa1 well is located. The ministry said in a statement on Monday that other parts of the field are not expected to yield substantial amounts of gas. The northern part of the Noa field is expected to produce 1.2 Bcm of gas.
