Total Signs Yamal LNG Deal

French major Total and leading Russ-ian independent gas producer Novateksigned final agreements on Thursday tojointly develop the Yamal LNG project inthe far north of Russia.Total said in a statement that the dealconfirms its position as the main interna-tional partner in the project, with a 20%share. Novatek, which intends to keep atleast 51%, has still to choose other part-ners, with Qatari companies seen as strongcandidates (IOD Oct.5’11).
