Study of optical fiber management on board technique

摘要

We studied a fiber management on board (FMOB) technique. The FMOB technique consists of a fiber physical contact connector, a PLC connector, and an optical fiber circuit. The FMOB technique replace conventional fusion splicing and installing by fiber wiring component. We applied the FMOB technique to an 8×16 delivery and coupling switch board for the photonic transport system. We realized enough optical performance for practical use, high density integration, and high productivity.
