Special features of growing of seedlings of stone fruit crops.

摘要

The importance of selecting the right rootstock, and timing and method of grafting for successful production of stone fruit seedlings is emphasized. Information is outlined on rootstocks used for production of plum, sweet and sour cherry, and peach seedlings. It is stated that cherry and apricot rootstocks are particularly sensitive to the dry air effect during grafting in conditions of dry regions of the Ukraine. Recommendations are provided for production of plum, and sweet and sour cherry cultivars resistant to various adverse climate conditions including cold and drought.
