Development of forced air cooling type single-phase small and light - high power factor switching power supply unit (48V25A)

Much has changed in the recent DC power system according to growth of the telecommunication network. Last year we developed 3kW switching power supply units (27V100A, 48V50A) and reported). Then, we succeeded in developing a 1.5 kW switching power supply unit (48V25A). Because of forced air cooling, this power supply unit is very smaller and lighter than the previous model (natural air cooling). This paper covers features, topologies and experimental results of this power supply unit.
