This letter is written in response to the recent excellent review article by Heller and Cracchiolo [1]. A recent case highlights my concerns. A 45-year-old woman came to my office with chronic vaginal bleeding to anemia. A pelvic sonogram and computed tomography scan performed previously in the emergency room showed a large myoma with a substantial submucosal component. No atypical features were noted on either study. Endometrial biopsy findings were benign, and a Papanicolaou smear was normal.
