摘要

The reaction mechanism of nitrogen absorption intopure iron melts was investigated using the ArN_2 plasma arc. Themathematical model for nitrogen absorption under Ar-N_2 plasmaarc and effect of gas flow rate was determined. Because change ofrate constant according to increasing gas flow rate in effect of Argas flow rate for absorption under Ar plasma arc is too small, masstransfer in gas and liquid phase is not affect to kinetics of nitrogenabsorption of the melt. Therefore, the rate controlling step isdeduced as the chemical reaction on the melt surface.
