摘要

Except for its neighbor to the west, Nevada, Utah receives less annual average precipitation (13 inches) than any of the 50 states. The average precipitation in the United States is close to 30 inches, more than double that of Utah. If not for its mountains, which capture moisture from passing storm systems and release it throughout the year, Utah would be one vast desert.~1
