摘要

Thelazia callipaeda is a parasitic nematode and the most common cause of thelaziasis in humans, dogs, and cats. The adult parasite lives in the eyes and associated tissues, including under the lids and in the conjunctiva and lacrimal glands and ducts. Its presence in the conjunctival sac causes lacri-mation and irritation, and its frequent migration into the cornea may cause ocular discomfort and eventual corneal scarring.1, Most of the cases of human thelaziasis that have been reported in Asia have exhibited external ocular infestation. We report a case of intraocular infestation with T. callipaeda in a patient who had a successful recovery after a pars plana vitrectomy.
