Prices for polyester (PET) feedstocks are bottoming out. The July Asian Contract Price (ACP) for paraxylene (PX) was settled at a high level, up us40 (5%) from the previous month. In response, major Asian purified terephthalic acid (PTA) producers have entered negotiations with customers for July shipments by announcing a high price of around us50 (6%) higher than the previous month. In addition, the spot price for ethylene glycol (EG) has risen dramatically from a temporarily low.
