JAST and the Tribology Division of ASME International: Making Headlines for Tribology

Japanese Society of Tribologists celebrates 50th anniversary! What a magnificent headline for the world to see, recognizing that the legacy of those who established a means to promote the science of tribology is being celebrated at an international venue in Kobe, Japan. As Chair of the Tribology Division of ASME International, representing its members from around the globe, I am honored to recognize this accomplishment, salute those who have enabled it to happen, and encourage those who rise to meet the challenges of the next 50 years. It is an objective of both JAST and the ASME Tribology Division to actively seek, educate and inform society of the benefits of tribology. There are plenty of engineering advancements that can be credited to this discipline in making our everyday lives easier, healthier, and more efficient.
