The authors developed a simple and fast calculational method of oil film thickness between needle roller bearing, shaft and outer ring rolling surface during misalignment and a load distribution calculation method of needle roller bearing taking misalignment into account, required for evaluation of the rolling contact fatigue life during misalignment. Based on the results obtained, (1) we proposed the simple calculation method which can agree, within a range of ±5%, to the complicated and conventional elastohydrodynamic lubrication calculation method for finding numerical solution using simultaneously the conventional Reynolds equation and equation of elastic deformation, when load distribution shows crowing and crown loading is higher than edge loading. And, (2) we developed the load distribution calculation method of needle roller bearing taking misalignment into account and found a good agreement between the calculated results and the measured contact width between the shaft and the needle roller bearing.
