Two New Species of the Genus Archarius from India and Laos with Systematic Note on the Subtribe Archariina (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

The genus Koreoculio is synonymized with the genus Archarius (s. str.). Two new curculionine species, Archarius (Archarius) indianus sp. nov. and A. (A.) luculentus sp. no v. are described with their habitus.Until now, none of the curculionine species of the genus Archarius have been recorded from India and Laos. Fortunately I could examine the specimens from those area and found characteristic two new species belonging to the genus Archarius.After the publication of my recent works on Taiwanese Curculioninae (Notsu, 2014), I had a chance to re-examine several species of the genera Archarius, Koreoculio and Pagumia belonging to the subtribe Archariina. The latter two genera were established by Kwon and Lee (1990), and the genus Koreoculio was mainly based on the structure of the male aedeagus. As a result of investigation, the structure of penis is revealed to be rather variable among the genera Archarius and Koreoculio.
