Brake Systems of Railway

摘要

The present state and problems related to the adhesion and wheel tread brake shoes, wheels, and disk brakes are shortly considered as typical tribological problems in braking on railways. Problems considered in the present work are just a part of the problems related to braking. From the point of stability in braking, there are many aspects where the introduction of a new technique is rather difficult and furthermore many new elements should be developed. In the future, the technique of braking will progress by considering different aspects of many technical fields. Finally, all the conclusions made in the present work reflect opinions of brake engineering and research institutions.
