摘要

First responders and lays exhibit a high level of uncertainty in the perception of cardiac arrest. Their capability to interpret clinical signs of cardiac arrest rapidly and reliable is scarce. In addition to a more thorough education in CPR, technical assistance in detecting respiration and circulation may alleviate the detection of cardiac arrest and might lead to earlier onsets of resuscitation measures. A miniaturized and innovative sensor system has been developed. Attached to the jugular region, the sensor system and its artificial neuro-nal network detect and analyses respiration and pulse: Within 10 seconds the sensor system makes a recommendation whether resuscitation should be performed or not.
