Inner Mongolia to invest 10bln yuan in exploration for minerals resources

Sources from Inner Mongolia Department of Land and Resources said that 10 billion yuan of funds will be put into exploration for mineral resources in the region in the coming five years. In March this year, the Ministry of Land and Resources of China has selected Inner Mongolia as one of key target region for important mineral resources. Erdors and Zhun'ger basins are listed as major target areas of oil and natural gas; Shendong and Mengdong become the large bases of coal; Daxinganling is the important mineralizaiton belt of metals. On the national list of 16 important minerals, 14 of which including oil, natural gas, iron, copper, lead, zinc and so on can be found in Inner Mongolia.
