The effect of shielding gas on welding of aluminium and its alloys

Aluminium and especially its alloys are widely used in industries. Hence also the requirements on quality and economy of fabricated welded joints are increasing. The most frequently used technology is TIG welding with A.C. current and MIG method in inert gas shielding atmosphere. The selection of shielding gas expressively affects the quality and economy of fabricated welded joint.
