In Part 1 of this article, published in April, the barriers of petrochemical production in India were discussed, along with the opportunity to explore chemicals from coal, using the specific example of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). In Part 2, the final part of this article, the example of manufacturing PVC from coal is explored, and a comparative analysis of PVC manufacturing from alternative feedstocks, including coal, is provided.
