Offline boiler cleanings used to be a very predictable event, especially in utilities. Deposits that form on the tube surfaces inhibit heat transfer and reduce boiler efficiency. Cleaning of steam generating equipment restores OEM heat-transfer efficiency lost from the effects of tube-surface deposition. Online chemical cleaning programs are difficult to control and their results are unpredictable. Consequently, industry prefers offline chemical cleaning.
