"We're stupid as an indus-try" is not a statement you would expect the HTA's new president to utter. Richardson's comment refers to the fact that while transport bills have risen by five to six per cent this year, prices for supplying garden centres and amenity are flat. He says: "We are stupid as an industry. When demand is good, others manage to get prices up. But we don't."
