LEXUS UNVEILS RC COUPE AT TOKYO SHOW

Lexus, Toyota's luxury car division, unveiled its new production ready RC coupe, scheduled for launch in 2014, at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. The RC is a stand alone model, rather than a derivative of a sedan. The coupe will be available with two powertrains: a 3.5 liter V6 engine teamed with an eight speed sequential transmission and a variant fitted with a Lexus Hybrid Drive System powertrain. The HEV is the first Lexus hybrid in the coupe vehicle category. It uses a dual injected 2.5 liter four cylinder engine with a 105 kilowatt electric motor driven through an electronic continuously variable transmission with six step gears in a sequential shift-matic configuration.
