Groundnut is an important dryland crop in Tamil Nadu, which is more often grown in mixture than in pure stands. The emphasis on inter cropping in ground nut is justified because it can provide greater yield advantages compared to sole cropping (Willey et al., 1981). Groundnut + Redgram system is commonly prevalent in dry land as ground nut makes a rapid canopy coverage of ground and uses the resources more efficiently (Asokaraja et al., 1987). With this an view a study was carried out to find out suitable intercrops of pulses and millet in ground nut.
