Using combining ability studies line x tester analysis in pigeonpea revealed non-additive gene action for the expression of days to first flowering, days to 50 per cent flowering, number of branches per plant, plant height, number of pods per plant, days to maturity, number of seeds per pod and additive gene action for seed yield. Parents MS Prabhat DT and CORG 9060 were found to be good general combiners for days to MS Prabhat DT and CORG 9060 were found to be good general combiners for days to first flowering, days to 50 per cent flowering and days to maturity.
