China's apparent demand for gasoline in October rose 5.7%, due to the week-long National Day holidays. However, that increase comes as overall oil demand is falling due to oil's high prices. The prices are causing shortages, the rationing ofas/diesel oil over the past two months, the shutdown of "teapot" refineries and the extending of off-season maintenance for larger state refineries.
