Sonatrach Ends Gassi Touil Deal

Algerian state Sonatrach has terminated a 2004 agreement with Spanish Repsol YPF and Gas Natural(GN)to develop the 4 million ton(5.5 billion cubic meter)per year integrated Gassi Touil LNG project,the two Spanish firms announced in separate statements to the Spanish stock market regulator late Monday.Both said they regretted Sonatrach's decision and would fight to protect their legal rights through arbitration.
