It's been a mixed week for Algerian-Spanish energy ties.The positive news is that Spain's Industry Ministry last week agreed to let Algerian state Sonatrach market 2 billion cubic meters per year (193 million cubic feet per day) of gas in Spain,up from an earlier 1 Bcm/yr maximum,but still short of Algiers' push for 3 Bcm/yr,which would reflect Sonatrach's current 36% shareholding in the planned 8 Bcm/yr Medgaz pipeline (WGI Jun.27,p5).
