Providing plentiful performance allied to excellent fuel economy, and with stylish good looks that can almost be mistaken for the flagship R model, this Scirocco R-Line with 184 PS 2.0 TDI could be the best all-rounder in the range... SO FAR, since we reviewed the launch of the new Scirocco in our September 2014 issue, we've road tested examples of diesel and petrol-powered versions, with the 150 PS 2.0 TDI DSG (Feb 2015 issue) and the 220 PS 2.0 TSI DSG (June 2015). So, in many ways, the latest road test car - this 184 PS 2.0 TDI - falls in between those models, as a higher-powered diesel-engined version. The question is whether it proved to be the best of both worlds, or fell between stools...?
