Golf Cabriolet R

AS REPORTED in our July 2011 edition, we first encountered the Golf Cabriolet R at the GTI Festival at Worthersee in Austria, in May 2011, at which time it was still very much a design concept. Displayed alongside a similarly speculative GTI version of the Golf Cabriolet, it attracted plenty of interest and enthusiasm, though, and the final production version that appeared in February 2013 was not too far removed from that original concept.
