This article traces the development of X56submarine pipeline according to API Specification 5L and DNVRules of Submarine Pipeline Systems (1981), at Tianjin Steel PipeCorporation. According to product inspection and welding tests,X56 pipeline demonstrates all relevant mechanical properties andgood weldability. Its low-temperature Charpy V-notch weldingstrength is above 39J, and it offers exact dimensional control.
