Busting the myths

Small mammals are commonly kept from rabbits to skunks, the species range is ever-increasing. These creatures, just like cats and dogs, require a need to be brought to a vet at some stage in their lives. A feature that has previously discouraged clients from seeking necessary veterinary intervention is that of the veterinary profession's perceived ignorance of their pet. This has come in part from a mythology within the profession of small mammals and their owners. Busting these myths is the best way for the profession to break some of the perceived barriers and educate owners that vets do have something they can offer.
