Cyclone Larry: The 20th March 2006 will remain etched in the memory of many North Queenslanders as the day of Cyclone Larry. At a scale of category 5, the biggest there is (excepting in Hollywood), Cyclone Larry was the biggest cyclone for years, butcommitted suicide when it hit the tropical coastline between Cairns and Cardwell, racing inland at breakneck speed, still a Cat-2 when it hit Croydon in the evening.
