Every year when the sun starts to shine and the fish start biting you can be sure to see more than a few trailer boat rigs broken down by the side of the road. Admittedly, breaking down on the road isn't as bad as breaking down on the water but it's still a big hassle and something we want to avoid. So even though it might be still be chilly, now's a good time to start getting the boat and trailer shipshape for summer. A lot of things can be done if you're handy. If not, it's a good idea to book theboat and trailer in for a pre-summer check with your marine dealer. But the first step is to write out a detailed checklist so you don't miss things. Once that's done, start with the trailer because it's going to get you to and from the ramp and literally supports your boat.
