Swimming pool safety

Committee CS-034 is currently revising the Swimming Pool Safety Standards, AS 1926.1 Swimming pool safety Part 1: Safety barriers for swimming pools, (revision of AS 1926.1-1993) and AS 1926.2 Swimming pool safety Part 2: Location of safety barriers for swimming pools, (revision of AS 1926.2-1995). The two Standards are part of a series dealing with barriers, location of barriers and water re-circulation and filtration systems. The revised AS 1926.1 Standard establishes safety requirements for design, construction and performance of barriers, windows and doorsets for swimming pools of the types normally installed for private use however, it is also applicable for public use if consideration is taken of the differing dynamics of public swimming pools to private swimming pools.
