Since May 2005, the Building Code of Australia requires that insulation materials used in new building construction comply with the performance requirements of AS/NZS 4859.1. The thermal insulation industry has been working hard to ensure that its products meet the requirements of this Standard, with the Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) running a product testing program for bulk insulation batts in late 2004, and the ACCC then following up anomalous results.
