Allied health in the spotlight

The spotlight fell on the role of allied health professionals, such as pharmacists, in delivering primary care to the Australian population, after a speech by Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon at the Australian Divisions of General Practice Mental Health Forum. The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) welcomed Ms Roxon's speech, which outlined the Federal Government's intention to develop a National Primary Health Care Strategy to better utilise the professional skills of a range of allied health professions.
