The ABAC, the biggest motoring association in Europe, runs a technical center, called ADAC Technik Zentrum, where products and services concerning mobility of motorists are tested with the objective of advising consumers and improving products. Complete cars, car components, and accessories like tires and child restraints are tested and assessed, using specially designed test methods. Sometimes regulated tests are carried out; often new practically oriented test methods are developed within the scope of the consumer protection program, and then comparison tests are conducted.
