Despite reports of a slowdown in the Chinese economy, Huntsman Polyurethanes Asia-Pacific vice chairman Kenny Pan was highly positive about the economic situation for the polyurethanes industry. "To be honest, we see a little bit of a slowdown in the Chinese economy but nothing to do with polyurethanes," Pan said in a 10 Sept interview with UTI at PU China. The whole industry is witnessing double-digit growth this year and Huntsman sees this growth continuing for the next five-to-ten years, he noted. "We are definitely in the right region and in the right industry," added Pan, highlighting both the potential in Asia-Pacific for growth and the potential for polyurethanes to meet the needs of that growth.
