The use of the da Vinci Surgical Robotic System (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, CA) has been growing exponentially. Al-though, initially, the robotic system was used primarily for radical prostatectomy, its application in other urologic surgeries is now commonplace. The robotic surgical platform has been used for a wide range of kidney operations, including partial nephrectomy, pyelolithotomy, and pyeloplasty. A natural extension of this technology is the use of the surgical robot in the pelvis for reconstructive and extirpative surgery, such as bladder diverticulectomy, cystectomy, ureterectomy, and ureteral reim-plantation.Bladder diverticulectomy is not a commonly performed procedure; however, if a clinically significant bladder diverticulum is present, open surgery can be difficult for both the surgeon and the patient. Pure laparoscopic repair can be tricky, especially for urologists without extensive experience with laparoscopy. This report focuses on robot-assisted laparoscopic bladder diverticulectomy (RABD). RABD makes this procedure easier for urologists and patients. Their report is well written and provides the robotic surgeon with an excellent step-by-step approach of how to perform RABD.
