I applaud the authors' steps toward the objective comparison of LESS surgery and standard laparoscopy, but their conclusions are overstated. Despite finding no differences in perioperative outcomes, they encourage further studies and suggest that with “increased surgical experience, it is possible that benefits in perioperative morbidity will emerge for LESS surgery.” Is that likely? Let us consider the following.
