THE LIGHT IN PVC WINDOW

The market of PVC windows is rather new for Ukraine. It has formed within the last four-five years helped by enhanced quality requirements for the residential construction under the influence of Western standards. The newcomer indicated a quick growth almost immediately; its volume annually expanded by approximately 60 percent. However, according to the experts, the year 2002 was a period of market saturation. This can be witnessed by the forecast of 30 percent sales growth last year (up to USD 32 mn). Weakening of a consumer demand also stands for this argument. In 2002, the figure lost about 10 percent. Gradual saturation of the market makes its operators lowering prices to survive in a competitive fight. In the last few years, retail prices for PVC windows decreased about 2.5 times. For instance, the retail price of one square meter of an opening metal-polymer window decreased from USD 250 to USD 100.
