Grain market of Ukraine has promising capacities. Last year's crop of 40 mn tons treated as several years' high put the country to top six exporters of grain in the world. However, to maintain the level and advance the success, Ukraine needs respective conditions for grain transshipment, which first spells development of ports and infrastructure in the country. Investors and port workers have been recently involved in active construction and expansion of grain terminals in ports. Authorities from Ukraine's Ministry of Agricultural Policy report that the aggregate grain transshipping capacities of Ukrainian ports grew by 71 percent over 2002 as compared to the previous year and outran 12 mn tons.
